Barry M Ultra Moisturising Lipstick - Flamingo Peach

161 Flamingo Peach by Barry M is one of their Ultra Moisturising Lipsticks which were released late last year.  Flamingo Peach is between a warm dark peach shade and a coral light red.  It is really similar in colour to Chanels Rouge Allure Velvet in 43 La Favorite, which is slightly redder and more pigmented.

I also have Vicious Violet  from Barry M's Ultra Moisturising Lipstick range.  I've found that Flamingo Peach is a lot less moisturising than Vicious Violet.  I've also noticed that this lipstick seems to be really hard, meaning you have to swipe it across your lips a considerable amount of times to build it up to its true colour.  Once built up, the shade that you get is highly pigmented and vivid.

Unfortunately as the lipstick is so solid in the tube it isn't that comfortable to apply, nor does it apply that evenly.  I don't know whether the problem would be lesser in hotter climates or during summer when the lipstick is more easily melted.  You also get a lot of 'tugging' on the lips as you try to swipe the bullet from side to side.  The texture once applied is slightly sticky, it doesn't feel thick or moisturising, it's the type of lipstick you notice that you're wearing.

On a positive note, it does seem to be pretty long lasting, as I could go about 3 hours before retouching.  It also faded unevenly, and I found that I had more staining in the chapped parts of my lips.  Unfortunately it was also staining in these areas.

I might try this one again in summer to see if it does melt slightly and become easier to use, but until then I think I'l give it a miss.  It is a good dupe for Chanels 43 La Favorite though and lasts a good length of time.
